RETECH 2009 is expected to be the largest all-renewables gathering in the U.S. in 2009, with an attendance of over 5,000 people. The event is planned to increase in scale in coming years to 10.000 attendees and 500 exhibitors, which will make it the largest event of its kind worldwide.
Packed with a full-scale Trade Show with press conferences and product launches, an exciting six-track Business Conference, and RETECH Side Events, RETECH 2009 will offer educational and networking opportunities for a wide range of participants. RETECH is managed by ACORE and Partnering Organizations.
Trade Show
Over 250 companies and organizations and twenty-five international governments will host booths and pavilions on the Trade Show floor. Exhibitors will include equipment manufacturers and suppliers, systems providers, finance and investment firms, research & development companies, project developers and operators, law firms, green builders, architects, construction and rigging companies, NGOs, trade associations, and government agencies.
Business Conference
The Business Conference will provide a platform for over 120 industry-leading speakers to share their knowledge and insights with attendees. The Business Conference will consist of six parallel tracks, held over two days, on each of the key technologies (wind, solar, hydro, ocean, geothermal, and biomass/ biofuels/ waste energy), plus cross-cutting sessions on markets, finance and policy. Discussions of clean technologies will incorporate presentations on hydrogen, fuel cells, batteries and other energy storage technologies, transmission, smart grid distributed generation, energy efficiency, green buildings, and other topics related to renewable energy.
RETECH Side Events
The RETECH Side Events (RSEs) will enhance participants' capacities and knowledge across RETECH's thematic areas. RSEs will be produced by a variety of sponsors, NGOs, and governments. They will offer a unique chance for the world community to discuss the opportunities and challenges of a rapid global scale-up of renewable energy, and to address the goals of energy security, climate change, and sustainable development.
WIREC 2008 and RETECH: Continuing Global Collaboration
While co-hosting the distinguished Washington International Renewable Energy Conference (WIREC 2008) that was held at the Washington, DC Convention Center on 04 - 06 March 2008, ACORE developed a model for a high-end conference and exhibition, which it will now bring to RETECH.
The Trade Show at WIREC 2008 was the largest business-to-business and business-to-government conference and exhibition ever held on all renewable energies in the U.S. It was global in scope, hosting exhibitors, speakers and delegates from 126 countries. RETECH will build on the Trade Show at WIREC to highlight top companies in the worldwide renewable energy industry.
"The renewable energy industry assembled for WIREC 2008, which uniquely brought together 8,600 people in government, industry, finance, and civil society," said Michael Eckhart, ACORE president. "We look forward to assembling again to continue our industries' global growth and success, as well as highlight and advance the technological advances being made around the world. We intend for RETECH to be the #1 place to be seen as a player in renewable energy."
